Jim Cooper is Stourport born and bred.
He has been a member of the Labour Party for over 40 years.
First elected in 1972 to serve on the former Stourport Urban District Council, Jim has more recently been a Wyre Forest district councillor for Areley Kings, since 1987.
He has also had the honour of being mayor of Stourport.
Jim's most recent contributions to local political life have been in the areas of best value and housing.
He is a member of the board of Wyre Forest Community Housing.
He looks forward to another four years of a Labour-led county council and believes it will be able to build upon the impressive strides already made in education.
"County council services have improved significantly under Labour. Let's keep it that way," says Jim.
