WORCESTERSHIRE skipper Graeme Hick won the toss and elected to bat as their County Championship Division Two clash with Gloucestershire got under way in Bristol today.
Openers Phil Weston and Anurag Singh made a steady start against Gloucestershire pacemen Jon Lewis and James Averis.
Singh got off the mark with a boundary off Averis in the second over, and Weston then took a single as the County moved their total onto five in the third over. After 13 overs the County were 30-0.
The County made two changes from last week's rain-affected draw with Derbyshire, calling up 18-year-old batsman Kadeer Ali for the first time this season following an impressive run of scores for the second team.
He replaced Paul Pollard, while spinner Matt Rawnsley took the place of Chris Liptrot.
