THERE was no place for Worcestershire's Graeme Hick when England named their 14-man one-day squad for the NatWest Series against Pakistan and Australia.
Uncapped Durham batsman Paul Collingwood wins an international call-up for the first time and there are recalls to international cricket for the Surrey pairing of Alistair Brown and Ben Hollioake.
Derbyshire's Dominic Cork, who last played one-day cricket for England on the 1996-97 tour of New Zealand, is also included in the squad.
Alec Stewart will lead the one-day side in the absence of injured skipper Nasser Hussain.
Chairman of Selectors David Graveney said: "In choosing this squad, we were conscious of the need to identify players who will be candidates for selection for the 2003 World Cup."
Squad: Alec Stewart (Surrey, capt), Alistair Brown (Surrey), Andrew Caddick (Somerset), Paul Collingwood (Durham), Dominic Cork (Derbyshire), Robert Croft (Glamorgan), Mark Ealham (Kent), Darren Gough (Yorkshire), Ben Hollioake (Surrey), Nick Knight (Warwickshire), Alan Mullally (Hampshire), Graham Thorpe (Surrey), Marcus Trescothick (Somerset), Michael Vaughan (Yorkshire).
