MALVERN Ramblers suffered their second consecutive Worcestershire County League Division Two defeat of the season when they lost to Cookley by seven wickets.
COOKLEY v MALVERN RAMBLERS
The toss was all important and Malvern Ramblers, as they always seemed to do on damp wickets, lost it.
Ramblers made their customary poor start before Sam Peachley and Adam Dovey effected a recovery. The pair put on 30 before Peachley became a victim of Selick for a hard fought 17.
Stephen Carter scored a workmanlike 16 and at 50-5, a score of 100 seemed possible but a familiar flurry of wickets followed and Malvern were bowled out for 70 with Selick bowling well to take 2-32.
In reply Rob Francis and Neil Thompson bowled reasonably well for Malvern but again enjoyed no luck whatsoever - Gordon Hawker was back to his best form and Malvern fielded keenly right to the end but finally lost out by six wickets.
