THERE is a lot more to consider in joining the euro than just to make it easier for David Andrews while he's working in Europe (You Say, May 12).
It is ludicrous to quote the USA as a parallel. It is a country of states, not a federal state of previously independent countries with different cultures, language and customs.
Why didn't he mention the greater American Common market (GAT) to which the USA belongs and which still thrives as simply a common market?
They keep their own currencies and complete independence with no unelected bureaucrats imposing dictatorial impositions on all concerned in order to create little kingdoms for themselves.
