UNLESS he practices astral travel, I'm not sure how Tim Pinney thinks he knows so definitely how prospective parliamentary candidate Mike Foster spends his working day.
Mr Pinney complains that Mr Foster's work consists entirely of the Hunting with Hounds legislation.
I do get the impression that he has been a hard-working constituency MP and blessed with the ability to concentrate on more than one subject at a time.
The Countryside Alliance's record of interest in rural matters during 18 years of Conservative government is nil since it did not exist.
There were no marches on Downing Street to protest about the Conservatives' disinterest in renegotiating the CAP or Common Fisheries Policy.
There were no marches protesting about closure of rural schools, post offices, banks, villages shops, loss of transport, deregulation of buses, proliferation of supermarket buildings. Neither did they stand shoulder-to-shoulder with fishermen in competition with foreign boats breaking the rules.
And neither were there marches with colleagues losing their manufacturing jobs in their hundreds of thousands as firms were allowed to go to the wall.
Suddenly it was all New Labour's fault, despite many Conservative policies seeming largely safe in New Labour's hands.
WENDY HANDS,
Upton-upon-Severn.
