KIDDERMINSTER had the best of a drawn Birmingham Cricket League Premier Division game with Aston Unity.

With only two wickets remaining at the end of the 34th over the home side looked set for a second victory of the season, but the visitors put on a determined 55 for the ninth wicket and held on for the draw at 184-9.

A return to form from two of last season's heroes brought about this favourable position. James Pipe scored a magnificent 132no from 132 balls and Mandeep Singh bagged 6-58, destroying any hopes Aston Unity might have had of victory.

Pipe put on 100 for the second wicket with Mark Mansell (45), and good running between the wickets led to a final total of 224-8 in their 55 overs.

Aston Unity were shaken when captain Abid Din was bowled in the second over by Rob Symonds.

With Singh turning the screw, the Warwickshire side were reduced to 129-8 after 34 overs but the pairing of Ryan Sierra (63no) and 'Sharkey' Hussain (24) batted for a chanceless 21 overs. Hussain's departure on the final ball of the match gave Kidderminster their fourth bowling point and 13 in total, Unity taking seven.
