A FOOD fair for local produce is to be held at a Worcestershire country park.
Heart of England Fine Foods is organising the event at Evesham Country Park as a way for producers in Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Shropshire to sell directly to the public.
The Food and Drink Fair, on Saturday, June 16, will also be a way of showcasing the many different types of produce made in the region.
Farmhouse gingerbread made in Shropshire, corn-fed turkeys from Warwickshire-based Turkey Talk, ice cream from September Organic Dairy, and pickles from Pershore-based Garners will sit alongside cheeses from Lightwood Cheese, in Cotheridge, and soups and pates from Herefordshire-based Polly's Pantry.
Smoked fish and game, Safari Chutney and fruit coulis will also tempt visitors.
"As the food and drink group for the West Midlands region it's our aim to promote the region's speciality food and drink," said Karen Davies, chief executive for Heart of England Fine Foods.
"This targeted 'foodie' event is an ideal platform to raise the profile of the excellent produce available from within the region, direct to the consumer."
The fair will be free and visitors will also be able to shop and browse among the stalls as well as visit the garden centre and other outlets.
The organisers are still taking applications from producers interested in exhibiting at the fair.
Evesham Country Park regularly attracts thousands of visitors during the weekend and Heart of England Fine Foods hope the fair will attract even more.
Any producers interested in taking part should contact the group on 01746 785185.
