HEREFORDSHIRE triumphed 3-1 against Worcestershire in a Midland Counties Youth Soccer Championship match at Bromyard.
Worcestershire started well and were the better team for the first half hour during which time they scored a well taken goal through Lee Goodman.
Andy Sherlock fired just wide of the visitors goal and Paul Harvey and Danny Hill saw their headers scrambled off the goalline.
Early in the second half Sherlock again went wide and the home county took up the running with several forceful attacks.
However, the equaliser was a remarkable effort on full-back Matt Ferriday who saw the visitors keeper off his line and cleverly lobbed the ball into the net from fully 40 yards.
Soon after Paul Harvey sent Luke Semple away and he drove the ball past the diving goalkeeper.
Matt Aubrey finished off the scoring with a powerful shot to give Herefordshire a comfortable victory in their final match of a successful county season.
