PAST traditions were brought to life in Pershore when a Canadian Morris Men troop performed in the town.
The Vancouver Morris Men stopped off yesterday as part of a 10-day British tour and performed various dances outside the Brandy Cask pub.
Pershore men George Collins and Sam Dufty joined the Morris Men with their performance of the Nappa Joe. They were believed to be the only people in the town who knew the song.
After their lunchtime performance, the Canadians were invited to lunch at the Brandy Cask by Pershore Tourism.
The troop was formed by a Midlands man who emigrated to Vancouver.
"It was absolutely brilliant," said Angela Tidmarsh, tourism officer for Wychavon District Council.
"I think they were overwhelmed by the amount of interest from both the local people and the media.
"They also met people who remembered the dances from years ago."
