FANCY owning a pair of Barbara Windsor's shoes, or being coached by Worcester City FC?
If the price is right then Peggy Butcher's famous shoes from the set of the BBC TV soap EastEnders - up for grabs along with a host of other pledges - could be yours at a charity auction near Worcester next week.
The highest bidder for the shoes - one of more than 100 lots in the eighth annual CIRCA Worcestershire Group charity auction - will also be the proud owner a signed photo of Barbara Windsor taken outside Albert Square's Queen Vic pub.
"There's a suspended sole inside the shoes," said Gillian O'Neill, who founded the Worcestershire group of the charity Crohn's In Childhood Research Association, with husband Tony eight years ago.
"It gives a bit more bounce."
The auction, being held at The Farmers Arms, Kempsey Common, on Wednesday, June 6, hopes to raise around £4,000 for children with crohns and colitis.
Other lots due to come under the hammer include one from HRH Princess Michael of Kent.
She has donated four stainless steel nesting cups in a leather case.
The cups are egg-shaped, slot inside each other and are used to drink from when out hunting or taking part in other rural sports activities.
Mrs O'Neill said the Princess has presented a variety of items to the auction over the last few years.
"Her most famous thing was a three strand pearl necklace. That went for £1,400," she said.
"The tension at that auction was quite amazing. Every one was sitting on their chairs biting their nails."
Dave Harrison, who has been landlord of The Farmers Arms with his wife Jenny since 1976, said the auction "has a lot of links in Australia with the fire brigade".
The New South Wales Fire Brigade is making its annual contribution of Fire Brigade items including its mascot, Ember Bear.
"It's a good evening's entertainment," added Mr Harrison.
"We've always had Andrew Grant as auctioneer and Mike George of BBC Radio Hereford & Worcester as compere."
The seven previous auctions, all held on the first Wednesday of June, at the pub, have contributed £32,448 towards the £100,000 which the Worcestershire group has now raised for research.
This year, people can also bid for a visit to the House of Commons, or a three-hour recording session at Muff Murfin's studios in Post Office Lane, Kempsey.
The auction starts at 7pm and anyone wanting a copy of the free catalogue can collect it from The Farmers Arms; Sandles Pharmacy at 177 Bath Road, Worcester, or by calling 01386 584280.
Anyone wanting more information about CIRCA should contact Tony O'Neill, trustee of the Worcester group, on 01386 584280.
