YOUTHS who are gathering on the car park of a Redditch fast food giant late at night are to be targeted by police.
A partnership has been forged between police and McDonald's in Oakenshaw to combat the problem, which has prompted scores of complaints from residents.
Sgt Terry Shutt, of Redditch police south sector, said they had gathered evidence and identified an issue of nuisance, which they aimed to tackle.
He said: "We are working with the management team at McDonald's who obviously do not want nuisance on their premises to affect residents."
Sgt Shutt said the youths often played their music from car stereos loudly and speeding on and off the Coldfield Drive car park.
He said: "We will identify the individuals responsible and discuss with them the problem they are causing, which they might not be totally aware of.
"They need to know their behaviour could be anti-social and we need to work with them to stop it."
Sgt Shutt said Redditch Council environmental health officers had also been contacted to see if their powers could help.
McDonald's franchisee Robert Holdcroft said: "We are putting a barrier and speed bumps in as another safety precaution and we are obviously co-operating with the police to alleviate the problem.
"Once the measures are in, the youths should stop gathering at McDonald's. The problem is the place faces a residential area."
