STUDLEY childcare provider Sneakers offered advice at the Kingfisher Centre on Thursday as part of a day of activities to mark National Childcare Week.
Sneakers, a nursery for the under-5s, also promoted three new Sneakers Kids Clubs which are to open at Harry Taylor, Oakhill and Tenacres first schools in September.
Redditch Play Council and Homestart were among organisations which also took part.
Karyn Maddison, of Sneakers, said: "We were really pleased to have an 18-year-old girl who used to come to one of our holiday clubs when she was 13 come along who is now interested in going into childcare as a profession.
"We offered her a voluntary work placement with us with all age groups so she can gain insight into what it entails before she chooses to enrol on a course."
