Wychbold RBL (2) 4
Droitwich Spa (0) 1
Redditch & South Warks
Combination Division One
RBL finished their league programme with a convincing win over neighbours Droitwich.
It was sweet revenge for the village team after Spa inflicted a surprise defeat on the Legion a couple of weeks earlier.
Wychbold RBL look to have clinched the runners up spot in Division One, depending on other results concerning the leaders, Mayfly.
The match was tense to start off with but RBL's Jason Harrison broke the deadlock with an 18 yard rocket of a shot in the 15th minute.
Spa lacked their fighting spirit and allowed the Legion team to keep on top.
Top scorer Matthew Jenkins scored RBL's second when he beat a Spa defender and coolly slotted into the net, on 30 minutes.
Robert Dufty pulled a goal back for Spa but could not take this further as RBL remained dominant, with brilliant football from MoM Mark Clements inspiring his colleagues.
Although RBL were well on top, it was not until the last five minutes when they scored their other goals.
A close range shot by Matthew Jenkins in the 85th minute was overshadowed by a good footballing move involving Nolan Talbot.
He played a one-two with Adrian Crowther, who then beat two defenders to shoot a fantastic shot into the corner of the net from ten yards, completing a well deserved victory and league honours.
l Final fixture: Bromsgrove Charity Minor Cup Final: Wychbold RBL v Mostyn Rangers or Access Security Athletic at Fairfield Villa's ground, on Sunday June 3, KO 4pm.
