THE season starts on Saturday according to Studley CC skipper Mark Lewis.
The Washford Fields captain has told his underperforming stars they are in the last chance saloon after a dreadful start to the season.
The early promise of a winning draw against Water Orton on the opening day has dissipated after a run of six straight defeats, including a cup reverse to arch rivals Redditch.
But Lewis is hoping his morale-hit troops can turn the season around against visiting Four Oaks Saints on Saturday (1pm start) despite the presence of ex Warwickshire star Paul Smith in the opposing lineup.
"We've been dismal all season and can't put our finger on what's happening," he said.
"The batsmen are not performing but we have been beaten by individuals.
"The teams we have played have not been any better but seem to have something, maybe that bit of luck, on the day.
"Promotion is already out of the question but I'm not worried about relegation because I believe in the lads here.
"I will change the order on Saturday because I think a number of players have been living on borrowed time.
"The lads have their last chance on Saturday and if they don't perform I will make changes."
A first win will be enough to lift Studley off the bottom of the Birmingham Senior Two East after defeats to Attock on Saturday and Walmey on Bank Holiday Monday.
