ENVIRONMENTALLY friendly Beoley First School pupils spent the day tidying up the village on Thursday.
The Church Hill school won a European eco award last year but pupils had to carry out a 'day of action' within the community this year to keep it.
Activities involved delivering leaflets on behalf of the parish council, litter picking throughout the village and tying back flowers.
Meanwhile, some of the pupils wore fluorescent jackets and walked along the roads to promote Walk to School Week, with the message that children should be walking to school but should do so safely, for example by wearing high-visibility clothing.
