IN reply to E F Showell (You Say, May 19) there is nothing wrong whatever with Advantage West Midlands. I am aware, of course, that, in due course, there will have to be an elected regional government for the West Midlands area.
Incidentally, there were far more "quangos" when the Tories were in power and the existence of many could not really be justified.
E F Showell also says that "our country is still and always will be a United Kingdom". Is he aware of the existence of Plaid Cymru and the Scottish National Party? Scotland is almost independent now.
Is Mr Showell also aware that the administration of the Six Counties is now made up of mixed elements, some "Loyalist" and some Republican?

Worcester
