HOUSING benefit fraudsters in Bromsgrove are facing a crackdown.

The District Council is updating its anti-fraud procedures in a bid to prevent and detect housing benefit fraud.

Cabinet members are due to vote on the proposed changes at a meeting at The Council House, in Burcot Lane, tonight (Wednesday).

Amendments to the year-old document include the introduction of formal cautions which includes the possibility of 'customers' being cautioned in their own homes when suspected of an offence.

A clause on surveillance has also been included.
