THERE'S a chance to enjoy some soothing music after the excitement and banality of the General Election next week.

St John's Church, Beckford, is the venue for an appearance by the Galliard Brass Ensemble which will play a range of music dating from the Renaissance to the present day.

The group, from Staffordshire, is made up of two trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba and is led by Mike Revell.

Tickets cost £4, at the door and students are free.

Drinks

Wine and soft drinks will be available after the concert, which is due to begin at 8pm, on June 9.

This will be the last concert in the Parish Music series before the summer but, they'll be back.

The first concert of the new season, is already diaried in for September 29, when the celebrated Newbold Piano Quartet will play Mozart, Brahms and Faur in Ashton-under-Hill.
