ALL-rounder Rob Fran-cis produced a match-winning display for Malvern Ramblers to win the Evening News/ Duncan Fearnley Cric-ket Sales Ltd. Cricketer of the Week award.
The 24-year-old took 5-66 in 20 overs to help bowl out Eastnor for 202 in their Worcestershire League Division Two encounter and then hit 103 not out, including three sixes, to secure a one-wicket victory.
The innings marked an upturn in fortunes for the former Worcestershire Second XI player whose previous three scores this season had netted a grand total of three runs.
"It was the first time I have got into double figures, my previous three scores included two ducks," he said.
"We were seventy odd for four or five so we were in a bit of trouble but I had a partnership of 130.
"I'm a fairly attacking player but this hundred was a bit slow for me.
"Bowling was difficult because it was a batting track and I had to bowl 20 overs which I haven't done for a while so it was quite tiring."
Rob, who lives in Malvern, struck 127 in a 12-over evening game last year. He is also coach of Worcestershire U15s and plays rugby for Malvern.
His all-round exploits have won him a £30 voucher to be spent at Duncan Fearnley Cricket Sales Ltd. in Sherriff Street, Worcester.
