June 1, 1901
Pershore: William Cotteril, a labourer, of Pershore, was summoned to Pershore Petty Sessions for being drunk at Pershore on May 25. PC Milsom said on Thursday, at about 10.35pm, he saw the defendant come out of The Talbot Inn and fall down drunk on the pavement. The landlord said he had only had two pints of cider. Defendant had eight previous convictions for drunkenness and was fined 2s 6d, and 5s 6d costs.

Evesham: Saturday last in Evesham was set aside as Cameo Day in aid of St Dunstan's Hostel for the Blind, and the total amount collected was £37 2s. Mrs W Gill Smith has received a letter of acknowledgment and thanks from the chairman of St Dunstans.

Evesham: When the parent teacher discussion group met at Prince Henry's Grammar School on Tuesday, Mr F S Larkin, headmaster of Blackminster Secondary Modern School, spoke on the responsibilities of parents and showed many ways in which they could help to produce a generation of free, kindly self-controlled citizens. The talk was much appreciated and produced a lively discussion. Finally, a collection was made on behalf of the Home and School Council of Great Britain, which exists to promote teacher co-operation and child study.

Evesham: Extensions to Prince Henry's High School, Evesham, are among projects scheduled for a 1976-1977 start in a capital budget programme going to a meeting on Monday of Hereford and Worcester county council's education committee. Extensions will cost an estimated £190,000 and a local education authority contribution towards an art and theatre block at the school is put at £78,200.
