BEWDLEY Carnival week begins on Sunday with organisers promising fun for all the family and a firework display on the eve of the big day.
The best views of the display, which is set to begin at about 10.15pm on Friday, June 8, will be from opposite Bewdley Rowing Club, which is also hosting a pub and club regatta to kick off the week on Sunday.
The day itself, Saturday, June 9, will feature children's fancy dress at Bewdley Institute, and stalls while the parade will begin at Hales Park at 1.30pm and finish at Bewdley Leisure Centre on Stourport Road.
Highlights will include drummers, dancers, a fun fair and "beat the goalie" competition.
Bewdley Fire Station will be open to visitors from 10am until noon on Sunday, and the Cock and Magpie on Severnside North will host a children's treasure hunt and quiz on Monday - with the adults' event also taking place there on Thursday, June 7.
Pets will be the order of the day on Tuesday with a dog show at Load Street's St George's Hall car park at 6pm and a small animals show in the hall basement at 7pm.
There will be a trivia quiz at 7.30pm on Wednesday at the Black Boy Hotel on Kidderminster Road .
Organiser Muriel Smith said: "This fun-packed week will attract hundreds of visitors to the town, which will in turn allow us to collect many hundreds of pounds for charity."
