Evesham is faced with the same choice as other areas the length and breadth of the country.
We, the Labour Party are offering expanded investment in public services - hospitals, schools the police and many more - based on sound public finances (having now paid off the deficit left by the Conservatives).
The work carried out during the first term was focused on putting the economy in a position which would then enable a Labour Government, whose instinct is to invest in public services, to carry out that investment. The work already done in reducing class sizes in primary schools will be expanded to cover secondary schools.
That is why Labour's manifesto includes plans for the recruitment of an extra 10,000 teachers. Similarly, a second term Labour Government would recruit an extra 20,000 nurses and 10,000 doctors. Furthermore, patients will not be forced to pay for non-essential operations, as our main opponents are proposing.
With Labour having come a strong second last time, I know that we are well placed to win this seat for Evesham, People are keen to see an expansion in the investment going in to services in Worcestershire. Only Labour can deliver this. I will never take your vote for granted, but will continue to fight for Evesham's desire to be part of an expansion in decent public services, paid for through a strong and growing economy.
Going back to the days of boom and bust would spell disaster for this constituency and for this country. With your vote, that strong second place can be turned into a win for Labour and for the people of Evesham.
