Meriel Williams gave a synopsis of the National Federation annual report at the May meeting, with particular reference to the financial statement which had been affected by the triennial meeting and exhibition.
Beryl Evans reported on her stay at Denman College, near Abingdon, where she and her husband attended an intermediate level bridge course.
The resolutions for the meeting in Cardiff were examined, Gill Munslow spoke on the need to provide a school nursing service, and Jill Robertson then outlined the problems of caring adequately for elderly people in hospitals and homes.
The proposed amendments to the WI constitution, regarding changes to the annual meetings, were explained. Some members will attend the meeting in Bromsgrove in June.
Final arrangements were made for the visit to Much Wenlock Pottery.
