In 1975 there was a vote on what we were told was a "common market". Political union was never discussed.

But since then successive governments have been handing over control of our country to Brussels - never asking if that is what you want. Our democracy, and your freedom, are being given away. The European Union is a wholly political institution that, according to German Chancellor Schrder, is to be re-named "The Government of Europe". There is no possibility of renegotiating the Treaties.

And it is not possible to be "in Europe but not run by Europe". We are now run by Europe. This is why the UK Independence Party's MPs will campaign for a referendum on whether Britain should remain a member of the EU. Britain is sending Brussels over £30 million every day - over £1 million every hour. But when we leave the EU we will have an extra £20 billion pounds a year to spend on the welfare of our own people.

None of the other parties can offer this. The UK Independence Party is the only party committed to taking Britain out of the European Union. If you agree with that, a vote for any of the other parties is a wasted vote.
