The May meeting of the Wyre Forest and District Centre featured A Wildlife Photographer Abroad.
Michael Leach, a professional photographer and writer of 15 books, made a return visit on May 15.
Michael gained a degree in wildlife photography and started work as a still photographer, his first year's income being £39. He supplemented his income as an ice-cream salesman and barman.
Later he became a television cameraman with the BBC's natural history unit, based at Bristol.
He filmed three series with David Bellamy and also worked with David Attenborough.
Michael prefers working on books, and is currently working on a series for the Worldwide Fund for Nature.
He described amusing incidents during his time as a cameraman, now having moved on to seek unfamiliar species abroad.
His favourite animals are the mountain gorillas in Africa, which are on the verge of extinction. His talk was illustrated slides of them.
