EIGHT members met at Broad Acres for the concluding match in the spring season.
Despite the unseasonable weather everyone enjoyed a good day's fishing, with all members catching fish.
Perpetual framer Roy Thompson gained victory after a long hard fight with three carp weighing in at 9-8-0, 10-0-0, 5-12-0 and a bag of bits for 18-3-0 giving a total of 43-7-0.
Club chairman Hugh Blundstone came second with 9-9-0 made up of carp for 6-10-0 and bits of 2-15-0 and bringing up the rear in third was club secretary Nigel Howe with 9-6-0, also carp and bits.
The club would like to thank everyone at Broad Acres for making it an enjoyable day. Club members are reminded that the next match at Lemington Lakes, on June 10, will be the start of the Sunday Summer League, places are to be booked as usual.

MATCH weights continue to improve as fish respond to the settled weather conditions. Best baits all round are pellet, caster, maggot and worm. Meat and corn results are starting to improve.
The top pool is giving good sport to pleasure anglers and club anglers alike. Pleasure anglers can expect bags of over 60lb from most pegs.
On the bottom pool big fish are coming later in the day with several fish in the 18 to 20lb bracket being reported. Match weights of over 50lb can be expected on the house pools. Pleasure anglers can expect near 100lb bags.
Big carp to 15lb plus are now moving freely to best baits maggot and caster on the canal. But try chum mixer under the trees!
