VEHICLES parked on pavements are understandably annoying and, as John Pedley (You Say, May 24) rightly points out, they are committing an offence.
This week, Worcester division responded to more than 2,300 incidents requiring police resources including a violent robbery, four road collisions that left people seriously injured, not to mention a heroin dealer being put before the courts and the successful convictions of a violent rapist and a man for attempted murder.
Such achievements cannot happen without substantial resources and so I must makes choices.
I understand that there are as many needs and expectations of the police service as there are people. I take my responsibilities very seriously and although I would like to be all things to all people, I will just have to have broad shoulders and prioritise according to professional judgement.
SIMON ADAMS, Superintendent, Divisional Commander
