AN abandoned pottery kiln has found a new lease of life helping young people with learning disabilities in Kidderminster. Lecturer Lyn Tyler, centre, with students Louise Bissett and Suzanne Buckle.
Jane Taylor, a co-ordinator of Leisure Link discovered the kiln in a garage next to her office and spent 18 months trying to get financial backing for her plan to use it to teach youngsters pottery.
With the help of funding through the Youth Trust, the kiln has now been installed at Kidderminster Youth House, in Bromsgrove Street.
Kidderminster College agreed to supply a pottery teacher to run two classes for 10 weeks and lessons are now under way.
