Evesham Wheelers
Club members were active on the racing scene over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Brian Lee rode well in the Ken Smith Memorial two day road race near Coventry, but succumbed to Sunrising Hill and the wet conditions on the second day.
Rudi Litghert, riding in South Wales in wet and windy conditions, achieved his best 25 mile time this year with 60.53. Ken Haynes, having ridden the South Wales Police 10 mile event earlier in the week to record 23.00, travelled to the West Country with Arja Scarsbrook and Brian Newton to ride the Chippenham CC 10 mile event. They recorded 24.12, 26.29 and 23.19 respectively.
On the following day Brian Newton rode the Bath CC 25 mile in the same area and was rewarded with third place overall and fastest veteran with a time of 60.56. Both events were won by Andy Cook of the Chippenham CC.
