THERE will be two evening meetings for members of Staunton and District Women's Royal British Legion in June and July at 7pm, instead of the normal afternoon meeting. At the July meeting the speaker will be Dave Padley talking about his visit to Russia.
This year the women's section of the Royal British Legion are celebrating their 80th anniversary, it was formed in 1921. To mark the occasion, Staunton and District branch are having a tea party on July 7 at 4pm in Johnstone Close lounge, it will be open to non-members and tickets will be 50p. There will be an exhibition of memorabilia down the years.
Next Saturday, June 2, Staunton PCC members and friends will be in Staunton churchyard starting on a general 'tidy up' but any additional help that can be given will be most welcome. The working party hope to start at 9.30am but volunteers will be welcome at whatever time they can manage. For any details please ring 01452 840273.
