I WONDER if I am not alone in seeing the irony within your paper last week (May 11). There was an article about a home in Deblins Green for 15 stray dogs and one rabbit costing £50,00 a year to run. That's £64 a week for each dog! A few pages later we read of the donation of £400 to Mhhyat Foyer, the local shelter for the homeless young within the area. I wonder how much they receive each week?
Do we really think so much more of our dogs than of our young people who have so often grown up with problems which are not of their making? What a pathetic society we are in danger of becoming. Let's get things into perspective. Homeless folk before homeless dogs, surely?
