FINE bowling by Depesh Patel failed to prevent Northamptonshire from a two-wicket win over Worcestershire in the Second Eleven Championship at Kidderminster.
The teenage paceman claimed 4-57 as Northants reached a victory target of 258 with two balls to spare.
Patel, however, made it difficult for them with three wickets in his first two overs, reducing Northants to 6-3, which became 43-4 when he struck again.
But Northants recovered through Tobin Bailey, who made an undefeated 97, and Lesroy Weekes (67).
The County were bowled out for 258 in their second innings. Anurag Singh made 77 and trialist paceman Steve Ellis, batting at number ten, hit 51no.
