COMPLICATED misunderstandings and comic timings are what makes Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro so appealing.
Sung in English, Opera Box is bringing it to The Roses in Tewkesbury on Saturday, June 9.
For anyone not familiar with the story of Figaro, it is a comic opera full of twists and turns. Figaro and Susanna want to get married but their master, Count Almaviva, has designs on the lovely Susanna. The Countess, neglected by the spiteful Count, consoles herself with the page Cherubino. Cherubino is devoted to the Countess but also loves Susanna. The scheming Dr Bartolo holds a longstanding grudge against Figaro and is trying to get him married off to his elderly servant.
The costumes are traditional and the cast is accompanied by the National Chamber Orchestra of Wales.
The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets, priced £14, £12.50 concessions, are available from the box office on 01684 295074.
