LIKE most of your regular right-wing correspondents, H Klee of Pershore (You Say, May 28) is completely wrong with his "facts".
There was no commitment to hold a referendum on capital punishment when temporary abolition was secured in 1965 for an experimental period.
This barbaric, brutalising and degrading form of punishment was finally abolished by Parliament in December, 1969 - by a big majority.
Mr Klee and others whose names frequently appear in your You Say feature would help their cases if they had an inkling of knowledge of the subjects they get beefed up about.
DAVID CANDLER, Worcester.
