THE Health Service was founded in 1948. It was a wonderful achievement - free medical treatment for all our people, from all backgrounds, and has served our nation well.
Then in the 1980s, the Tory Government started its policy to dismantle it.
Hundreds of hospitals were closed, not because the population miraculously became more healthy but because of our orders from our true masters, Brussels.
Their desire was to have everything privatised. Consequently, we now see hospitals being built by the Private Financial Initiative (PFI) and these are then leased back to the health service.
They are now run for profit.
Policy under Tony Blair has seen no improvement. He promised big changes but has kept to the Tory ideal.
Now we see more hospital closures, which ultimately means fewer beds. He promised more doctors and nurses - where are they?
The false figures abound as we near the election. The promise of 200 new CT scanners, for instance, did not give an accurate figure. All but 50 were replacements.
Britain is the fourth largest economy in the world, so how is it we have Third World facilities in many hospitals?
It really is disgraceful that we can manage to pay £200 million a week to the EU. Is it then so surprising when they can't afford to treat our sick people with dignity?
All the other main parties in this election support our association with the EU, so if you want the £1 million an hour we fork out to the undemocratic EU not to go to our own social needs in this country, vote for them.
Or vote for a healthy health service, properly funded by our withdrawal from this insidious institution.
