Malvern Ramblers U14 v Worcester U14

A thrilling game saw Ramblers win by just two runs. Ramblers openers put on 13 until Mackichan fell to the bowling of Van Verin. Dovey was joined by Croad who scored 13, and finally Chappell who finished on 16 not out, Dovey having finally fallen for a fine 43. Ramblers score of 106 off their 20 overs put them in a strong position, but the Worcester openers of Genever and Van Verin started confidently until the latter was caught in spectacular one handed fashion by Hughes. An economical penultimate over by Lucy Bywater left Worcester needing seven off the last. In the mad scramble for runs Smith was run out for 34 leaving Nickleson unbeated on 23 and the visitors short by two.

Victoria U10 v Malvern Ramblers U10

Ramblers U10s started their season with a trip to Kidderminster for this South Worcestershire league game. The loss of 10 wickets though ensured that their aggregate score was reduced by 50 to 209. Victoria batted solidly, loosing only 3 wickets and won comfortably, finishing on 257.

Malvern Ramblers U12 v Colwall U12

Ramblers' opening pair got off to a cracking start, White scoring 11 and Sharp getting the only six of the match. Mackichan top scored with 13 and the final pair of Sean Jenkins and Guy Cullen put on 17 to leave the visitors needng 248 to win. The final pair of King and Brierly put on an unbeaten 37 to see Colwall home by 32 runs.

COLWALL U11's v KEMPSEY U11's

COLWALL travelled to Birlingham for their second fixture in the Bishop Trophy. Batting first they got away to a bad start, losing two early wickets before Jed Hornyold and Cadan Pryor steadied the innings. With David Doherty then striking three boundaries in his partnership with debutante Alex Johnson, the score began to look promising for the away side. However, some tight bowling pegged the Colwall batsmen back and with Stephen Coffey caught on the last ball of the innings the score finished on 238.

In reply, Kempsey batted sensibly for the first seven overs only conceding one wicket bowled by Coffey. However, once Colwall took their second wicket, this time bowled by Nicky Hall, the match took on a more competitive edge. With Coffey then taking two wickets in consecutive balls, followed by wickets for Hornyold and Johnson the scene was set for an exciting finish. With nine runs needed from the last two overs, Kempsey finally edged ahead of Colwall and a dropped catch by the fielding side in the last over was sufficient to see a Kempsey side win by four runs.

BARNARDS GREEN U'11s v STOURPORT U'11s

BARNARDS Green U'11s entertained Stourport U'11s in the eight aside Bishop Trophy. Batting first, the Green had a shaky start losing a wicket in the first over when Richard Tuck was out, but he and Ben Marks composed themselves and took the score to 206 after their four overs. Skipper Liam Paddock and Phil Harris played some elegant shots with good scoring between the wickets to take the score to 242. The final pairing of Harry Pleass and James Scullion played some good shots, but lost silly wickets and the Green finished on 238 after their 16 overs.

Stourport never mastered the accurate Green bowling and were always behind the clock. Liam Paddock bowled an excellent line and length to finish with 4-2 and Harry Pleass took 4-8, including a superb catch by James Scullion.
