A CHARITY shop in Worcester is faced with closure unless volunteers can be found.
The Save the Children shop in Pump Street has reached crisis point with several of its existing employees recently retiring.
Sue Williams, Save the Children's shops manager, says she fears the establishment is living on borrowed time and is now issuing a desperate plea for help.
"With the retirement of volunteers, we're unsure how we're going to cope," she said.
"We're hoping that we'll be able to remain open as usual on most days of the week, but it is looking more and more likely we will be closed some days unless people can help us."
Save the Children is the United Kingdom's leading international children's charity, working to create a better future for children.
Their shops, like the one in Worcester, play a vital money link to help provide for youngsters in the UK and 70 countries worldwide.
The charity's aim is to create a happy, healthy and secure future for present and future generations, a message that Sue hopes may inspire new volunteers.
"We involve children in what we do - we believe in listening and learning from them," she added.
"I am sure there must be people who would like to help who may have three hours a week to spare."
Experience is not essential, but a sense of humour and ability to work as a team are the qualities the shop is looking for.
