WORCESTER Concert Brass has recruited three new members thanks to the internet.
The band has set up a website at www.worcester-concert-brass.freeserve.co.uk
Three players - Ian Ross (cornet), Hayley Lewis (baritone) and Ann Pederson (cornet) - all joined after coming across the site.
Former Elgar High School band member Ms Lewis was "surfing" for brass bands in Worcester, as was Ms Pederson, who had arrived in the city to work and wanted to know what bands were active.
Mr Ross had not played for six years and said he was inspired to take up his instrument again when he noticed the website.
"We're delighted to have gained these new players," said Brian Hodgetts, the conductor of Worcester Concert Brass.
"All three are making a contribution to the band, which we may not have benefited from using more traditional recruitment methods.
"We've been developing the website for some time now and it's great that we're now starting to get a response from players from Worcester and further afield."
