YOU won't be flying around the world and receiving Vogue modelling contracts but you will meet people, go places, have lots of fun and be treated like a queen!
The annual search for Worcester's Carnival Queen is on and already more than a dozen hopefuls have thrown their hat into the ring in the hope of exchanging it for a crown.
If you are aged 16 or over and live in the postal areas WR1 to WR5, there is still time to enter the contest and enjoy an unforgettable year as Worcester's carnival queen and ambassador.
The organisers of the carnival say they have space for two or three more contestants for Thursday's big night.
They are looking for an outgoing and bubbly person with loads of energy to take on the challenge. You will attend fetes, parties, openings and presentations, as well as meeting hundreds of people throughout the year.
"All our past carnival queens have said they've enjoyed themselves during their reign," said carnival publicity officer, Mike Dandey.
"They do have to put quite a lot in but they get an awful lot back and have some wonderful experiences."
This year's Queen, 21-year-old Kirsty Evans from St John's, has attended more than 46 events, as well as enjoying a trip to Ireland to visit the Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters.
The judging ceremony will take place at Huntingdon Hall.
Phone Mr Dandey on 01905 421917 for details - and it could be you standing on that royal rostrum!
