TENNIS: The Mixed A team were Stourport Tennis Club's only winners with their second victory of the season, 3-1 at Wall Heath in the Kidderminster League.
At Hartlebury, the Men's B team included two promising newcomers, Oliver Tombe and Luke Davies.
But it was Graham Ashmore and Roger Houldsworth who secured a 2-2 draw by winning both their matches, the second in three sets.
Rob Tarpey and Hilary Hatt won their matches, while Derek Tarpey and Helen Bradley won one match.
The Men's A team opened their campaign in Herefordshire and Worcestershire League Division One at home to Bromsgrove A, where their visitors won 5-2.
The Grainger brothers failed to take a match-point chance in one of their matches but the Tarpey brothers won one, as did Steve Newbury and Tony Westhead.
The men's and ladies' B teams paid the penalty for putting out under-strength teams at Worcester and Blakedown respectively.
Worcester A beat the men 7-0 but Stourport were hampered when Scott Hadley suffered the reoccurence of a footballing injury while partnering Malcolm Bradley and they had to retire.
The ladies were beaten 5-2 with the pairings of Lindsay Bleach-Wilson and Sally Smith, and Wendy King and Di Ferris being the winning duos.
