I WONDER if someone might apologise to prospective parliamentary candidate Mike Foster for the embarrassment he suffered when the Worcestershire Hunt Supporters Club bought three hours of his time at the Arthritis Research Campaign charity auction.
Extremely offended by their action, it appears he found it necessary to leave early, thus missing out on a valuable Press opportunity. The whole episode must have been a complete nightmare for him.
Does attempting to turn thousands out their homes, destroying tens of thousands of jobs, criminalise hundreds of thousands and taking away the liberty of millions warrant such humiliation of Mr Foster?
Can it really be fair to play this type of trick on him? Because if anyone got the idea he was obsessed with little else but a hunt ban it might put his distinguished political career in jeopardy.
Many people in Worcester don't realise just what a debt the countryside owes Mr Foster. He has managed to bring about a unity that could have only been dreamed of before 1997.
Now Mr Foster has made it clear, given the opportunity, he would continue using his time and resources attempting yet another ban, it may be advisable to find ways of not offending him in the future.
