THE Mayor of Worcester has called for city councillors to show a little tolerance as local government is given an overhaul.
Councillor David Clark picked the subject as the theme for his Civic Service at Worcester Cathedral yesterday.
"Modern living seems to feature so many stresses and strains that we can get rather aggravated and need to show tolerance," he said after the service.
"I thought it was particularly important given that the council is undergoing several changes at the moment, and we'll need to be tolerant too."
Mayors and deputy Mayors from across the county were invited to attend.
They were joined by dignitaries including Supt Simon Adams of Worcester police and the chief executive of the city council, David Wareing.
Coun Clark described the service, at which the Rev Paul Collins spoke, as "very moving".
"The choir sang beautifully and I found it very emotional," he said.
