CHESS: John Wrench and Jim Friar will do battle to decide the new Kidderminster chess champion.
At the semi-final stage, Wrench caught Maurice Bissell napping, winning a piece, and Friar capitalised on John Gittus' unusual opening.
In Division One of the Wolverhampton League, Kidderminster Chess Club completed their programme with a 3.5-2.5 victory at Stourbridge.
