The flying Scotsman broke the track record with a time of 25.28 seconds over the 1,000-yard course in the Teme Valley.
He beat the existing record of 25.34, which was set by Richard Brown in a 3.5 litre Pilbeam MP58 Ford VFR in June 1992.
Wight's Gould GR51 averaged more than 81mph during a sensational run in overcast conditions and won the Cyril Paul Trophy for best time of the day.

"The track has been resurfaced and rebuilt and on the first hillclimb of the season the record has gone."
