THIS popular piano duo, making a welcome return to Kidderminster thanks to the Classical Music Society, enchanted their audience from the minute they walked on in their matching outfits.

Most of the music they played was originally scored for two pianos, but they gave a masterful demonstration of "four hands on one piano", starting with Schubert's Fantasia D940.

They played this with great expression, performing the soft and the loud passages with equal flair.

In lighter vein was Ravel's Mother Goose Suite, and here they really made the music tell the story, especially in Beauty and the Beast.

The second half was mainly very popular pieces, including pieces from Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite.

The final item was Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody Number Two, which was just breathtaking - at times their fingers were a blur! The duo's total rapport with each other was evident, and made for a wonderful evening's music. VJS.
