I READ with great interest Paul Stammers article about the Conservative parliamentary candidate, Richard Adams (Evening News, Monday, June 11).
The Worcester Conservative Association selected Richard back in March 2000, at its annual meeting.
All members were entitled to vote and Richard was democratically chosen.
A lot of Worcester citizens have come to know Richard over the past 15 months and he has proven to be a genuinely caring and considerate individual.
In this very cynical world in which we live, actions often speak louder than words. On two separate occasions, I personally witnessed him, while out canvassing, picking up litter from people's drives and putting it in his pocket.
This was done before he had knocked on the door.
I believe this reflects the type of caring person he is at heart. He's a strong individual who would have stood up for the people of Worcester and fought for issues affecting them personally, no matter which government was in power.
You know as well as I do that national rather than local issues won the election.
If I personally had the chance again to endorse a candidate, that candidate would be Richard Adams.
