Dating from 1968, the picture above shows Oxford Street, Kidderminster. In the foreground is the former Co-op store which closed in 1988, causing uproar amongst pensioners at the loss of a piece of town history - the bench instore where they used to gather to chat.
Also in the picture is the former site of the bustling indoor retail market which was closed in March 1974, eventually being re-housed to the current Worcester Street site.
Following the demolition of the Co-op buildings Yates's wine lodge and a butchers shop stand on the site pictured below. The retail market is now a service entrance to the Rowland Hill shopping centre.
