IT'S ironic that Harriers' regular domination of the Worcestershire Senior Cup should be shattered despite being the county's first Football League club.

But they used Wednesday night's semi-final more as a reserve run-out for fringe players and youngsters.

Unfortunately, the end product was a 1-0 home defeat to Dr Martens League Premier Division Moor Green and not a particularly satisfying display.

Visiting striker Derek Hall grabbed the winner 10 minutes from time with a smart left-footed finish across keeper Stuart Brock from inside the area.

The non-leaguers were probably worth their win though on paper they should have been beaten by a Harriers side containing seven first-team players.

Green, who returned the likes of right-back Denis Mulholland and striking legend Kim Casey - now player-coach - back to their old home of Aggborough, face Evesham or Worcester in the final.

A forgettable opening period saw Harriers' forward Stewart Hadley lonely up-front as Andy Ducros drifted down the left.

Thomas Poston, lively on the right, drilled a deflected effort wide and Ben Davies tested Andy De Bont from the edge of the box.

But Moor Green created the better chances as Jae Martin headed at Brock who then tipped over Jai Stanley's cheeky 40-yard free-kick on 35 minutes. Brock then pushed another Martin header wide and held a shot from former Bromsgrove player Mark Crisp.

Stanley's skills often stood out in midfield but it was Crisp who carved out an opportunity for Hall on 52 minutes only for Brock to save well down to his left.

Although Poston and Hadley forced De Bont into action, Moor Green were more and more threatening on the counter-attack.

That cost the home side as Hall tucked away the only goal to make sure a different name goes on the county trophy this year.

SHUTTLE STAR MAN

STEWART HADLEY

Fought a brave lone battle up-front but did not get the goal he deserved. Headed one effort just wide and had another deflected. Could solve the first team's goal-scoring problem.
