A TRUSTING man who took the new woman in his life to visit a former boyfriend for a birthday drink later discovered the couple partly-clothed in a bedroom.
Warren Kinnersley arranged to pick up Chrissie New later in the evening, but became suspicious when her mobile phone was switched off, Worcester Crown Court was told
He and his brother Terry went round to the home of Wayne Gregory, kicked in the front door, and found Mrs New and Mr Gregory in a bedroom, said Simon Davis, prosecuting.
Terry Kinnersley, who punched Mr Gregory three times on the head, admitted assault causing actual bodily harm.
Kinnersley, aged 24, of Monks Walk, Evesham, was ordered to pay £400 compensation to Mr Gregory and to complete 150 hours work under a community punishment order.
Warren Kinnersley, 29, of Stratford Road, Honeybourne, who admitted damaging the door, was ordered to pay £140 compensation to Mr Gregory and do 100 hours under a community punishment order.
Incident
Mr Davis said the brothers were arrested at Mr Gregory's flat on the night of the incident on October 15 last year.
Warren Kinnersley had told Mrs New: "Is it him or me? I've given everything up for you."
Jeremy Wright, for Warren Kinnersley, said he had become agitated when his girlfriend was later than expected and had been overcome by feelings of jealousy. He admitted losing his temper and breaking down the door.
But the couple were now back together and he was regarded as a father figure by her four children.
He had two children of his own and was in the process of divorce.
Jonas Hankin, for Terry Kinnersley, said he had no previous convictions and had gone along to stop his brother getting into trouble but had become involved himself.
He was a hard-working man who had started his own company and was engaged to be married.
Judge Richard Rundell said it was a disgraceful incident.
There had been provocation but the brothers had acted in a grossly excessive way. He accepted that their expressions of regret were genuine.
